2019 has been the year for Newborn Baby Boy Sessions. I have had very few girls this year and that is just how it seems to go with newborn photography. Some years are filled with girls and others are filled with boys. It just makes me be a little more creative with how I use my props and poses so that sessions remain unique. This little guy had two sessions, one quick one for family and one full newborn session. He hated our family session and cried for a good amount of time during it so I was a little nervous about how his newborn session would go. But the little man did not make a single peep his whole session and he did so good for his photos.

What’s included in a Newborn Session?

As a newborn photographer I get a lot of questions about what is included in a Newborn Session so I thought it would be helpful to do up a blog post about just that. Newborn photography is not cheap and quite frankly it probably isn’t an area where you want cheap. When you are talking about your baby you want to ensure that they are safe and healthy and that the person taking your photos has a lot of experience and knows how to do their job safely. But what exactly is included in that larger price tag?

1. Experience.
If you’ve ever done a newborn session you know how difficult those poses can be and how much patience is required. Perfecting these poses comes with years of practice. I promise you could not pick up and get these same poses of your baby.

2. Studio
We have a gorgeous studio to use that is filled with things to make your session go smoothly. Two white noise machines to help baby sleep, a warm fireplace to keep them cozy and settled, lighting to make the photos look their best and a nice room for you and your husband to rest in.

3. Props
Did you know that in this photo alone there is more than $500 worth of props. Newborn photography props are typically the best quality and as a result they are very pricey. We try to keep on top of trends and continue to add new props so that your photos are unique. Having a wide variety of props means a good variety in your images and photos that best represent your interests.

4. Knowledge
If your baby is fussy there’s a good chance I can tell you why. I can spot when a baby is hungry or has a sore tummy and I can almost always find a solution. I’ve been called a baby whisperer many times and have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to help you baby settle into a deep sleep.

5. Images
The most important part. You will receive 25 digital images in a final gallery. You can share these images with your friends and family and you can print them directly from your online gallery.

6. Professional Print Products
Everyone wants to print photos of their newborn. Did you know that it matters where you print them? I can help to guide you on your print choices and what will look best in your home. And you can order through my professional lab to get the best possible product that will last until your baby is old and grey. I can also help to design special collages and birth announcements if you desire.
